Remodeling the Hallowed Heteronormative Halls of Academia

To counter the isolation and stigmatization that LGBT people experience in academic settings, Drs. Lisa Aspinwall and Lisa Diamond created GASP—the GLBT Alliance in Social and Personality Psychology.

Acting Professor: The Many Lives of Ashley Whillans

Ashley Whillans is an Assistant Professor at the Harvard Business School. In her previous life, she worked as a professional actor in television, theater and film. We were curious to learn what these distinct professions might have in common.

Honor a Colleague With an Annual Award

Our annual awards recognize contributions to the field of personality and social psychology. Awardees are recognized at the Annual Convention. Nominations close June 1, 2019.

Become an SPSP Fellow

SPSP Members who have earned their PhD more than 10 years ago and have made an extraordinary and distinctive contribution to Social Psychology are encouraged to apply. Self-nominations are welcome. Deadline is June 1.

SPSP at NITOP: Call for Proposals

The National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology conference will be held in January, 2020. Each year, SPSP sends one member to present. To be eligible, submit your proposal by April 1, 2019.

Apply Now for a Small Research Grant

The summer application portal is now open. These grants provide funding for SPSP members who work at institutions that do not provide financial support for research. Apply by April 15.

Apply for a Small Conference Grant

Have an idea for a small conference, but in need of funding? Consider applying for a Small Conference Grant. The submission portal opens April 1.
